George Russell won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for Mercedes, beating Max Verstappen by 0.196 seconds in Baku on 26 September. The race featured two late safety car periods. Verstappen finished second for Red Bull after starting eighth. The win was Russell’s first since June’s Austrian Grand Prix.
