Automattic names new board after failed bid to remove CEO Mullenweg

Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg named a new board Sept. 25, weeks after prior directors voted to put him on paid leave. He shared the lineup with staff in Slack. Mullenweg retook control 33 hours after the vote, removing or accepting resignations from those directors. Automattic owns WordPress.com, Tumblr and WooCommerce.
