Kingston Selected as High-Speed Rail Station on Quebec City–Windsor Corridor

The federal government confirmed Kingston as a stop on the planned Quebec City–Windsor high-speed rail corridor on June 22, 2026. The announcement, backed by the ALTOS public consultation report, positions the university city midway between Toronto and Ottawa. Service would cut Toronto–Kingston travel time to 90 minutes, versus Via Rail's current two hours forty minutes.
