Ai Weiwei unveils 500-helmet Mushrooms in Sydney

Ai Weiwei unveiled 'Mushrooms' on 25 September outside the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in Sydney, MCA Australia said. The 40-metre, walk-through work places 500 cast-iron combat helmets in ten rows as the 2026 Neil Balnaves Tallawoladah Lawn Commission. It stays seven months, presented by the museum as 'a call for peace.'
