Judge signals $5m-plus cut to $12.9m award in Chris Brown dog-mauling case

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Huey P. Cotton signalled he will cut more than $5 million from the $12.9 million jury award to Maria Avila, mauled outside Chris Brown's home on 12 December 2020. Avila's lawyer said the proposed cut was almost 40% and asked for $11 million instead. No final order has issued.
