Madonna to open 2026 VMAs for record fifth time

Madonna will open the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Sept. 27 in Los Angeles, according to Billboard's full performers list. It is her first VMAs performance in 23 years and her fifth time opening the show, the most for any artist. Snoop Dogg will host. The show airs 7:30-9:30 p.m. ET on CBS, MTV and Paramount+ Premium.
