Iger admits Disney did not thoroughly vet Chapek for CEO

Bob Iger told Harvard Business Review Disney's 2019-2020 process to pick Bob Chapek as CEO was 'perhaps not as thorough as thought' because 'they thought they knew the person extremely well.' Chapek took over in February 2020 and was ousted in November 2022, Variety reported 24 September 2026.
