Abbas to Address UN by Video

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will not attend the September 2026 UN General Assembly in person after the U.S. denied his visa. The UN approved a video speech instead. That keeps Palestine on the speakers list, but remote remarks offer little chance for the face-to-face talks — hallway diplomacy — that matter in New York.
