BBC expects 151 voluntary exits from tech unit behind iPlayer

About 151 staff are expected to leave BBC Media Tech, which helps power iPlayer and BBC Sounds, through voluntary redundancy, meaning staff choose to leave with a payoff, Deadline reported. The exits equal about 4% of the unit and are expected to save £14.5 million over coming years, with 11% of staff applying and 40% of applications accepted, Deadline reported.
