Divorces in 2025 Lasted a Median 13 Years, Longest Since 1963

Marriages ending in divorce in England and Wales in 2025 lasted a median — the midpoint — of 13 years, according to ONS data published 23 September 2026. That is the longest since records began in 1963, up from 8.9 years in 1985. The ONS recorded 105,002 divorces in 2025.
