Six arrested in Gosport after asylum-boat rumour proves false

Six people were arrested after hundreds gathered at Gosport marina in Hampshire Tuesday evening expecting a small boat carrying asylum seekers. Police say they turned hostile toward officers. The boat landed in Dover around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday with 51 people aboard. Four were held on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker; two for suspected aggravated trespass — entering restricted land.
