Updated Covid Vaccines Withheld From Children's Program in 11 States, Territory

The Trump administration will not supply updated 2026-27 Covid shots through Vaccines for Children (VFC), the federal program giving free vaccines to eligible kids, HHS confirmed Sept. 23. In 11 universal-purchase states and American Samoa, no children can get them that way. Elsewhere, 52% of U.S. children eligible for VFC are affected. CDC says procurement is still being finalized.
