U.S. Withholds Updated Covid Vaccines From Child Program in 11 States, Territory

The Trump administration is not supplying updated Covid vaccines through the federal Vaccines for Children program as 2026-27 shots roll out, HHS confirmed Sept. 23. In 11 universal-purchase states and American Samoa, that blocks access for all children. Elsewhere, it affects the 52% of U.S. children eligible for VFC. CDC says procurement decisions are still being finalized.
