Many Children Blocked From New Covid Shots

Updated 2026-27 Covid shots will not be supplied to children through Vaccines for Children, the federal free-shot program, the Trump administration's HHS confirmed Sept. 23. In 11 states that cover all children plus American Samoa, no child can get them that way. Elsewhere, 52% of U.S. children who qualify are affected. CDC says purchase plans are still being finalized.
