Billy Root to retire from top-flight cricket at end of 2026 season

Billy Root, 34, will retire from top-flight cricket at the end of the 2026 season. The brother of Joe Root joined Glamorgan from Nottinghamshire in 2019. He made 67 appearances, scored almost 5,000 runs with seven hundreds, and helped win the 2024 One-Day Cup. He follows teammate Colin Ingram into retirement.
