UK reviewing Chagos handover deal, Streeting says

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said the UK is reviewing its Chagos Islands handover deal. He said Washington does not back the agreement as drafted, so Britain must reconsider. Under the original terms, the UK would hand sovereignty — legal control — to Mauritius, then lease back the joint base for £101m a year.
