Pakistan to Close Key Islamabad Highways Ahead of Sept. 27 Pro-Khan March

Islamabad police said Sept. 23 they will close the Islamabad-Peshawar and Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan motorways — major highways — and Grand Trunk Road at several points that evening. Police say the closures aim to stop supporters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, jailed since August 2023, reaching the capital for the Sept. 27 march for his release.
