Pakistan to close major Islamabad roads ahead of Sept. 27 pro-Khan march

Islamabad police said on September 23 that the Islamabad-Peshawar and Islamabad-Dera Ismail Khan motorways and Grand Trunk Road would close at several points starting in the evening. The move aims to block supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in detention since August 2023, from reaching the capital for a September 27 march demanding his release.
