Qantas to Start First Sydney-New York Nonstop in Mid-2028

Qantas will fly nonstop Sydney to New York JFK from mid-2028. The 18-hour flight saves three hours over the 21-hour trip via Los Angeles. It will be the first direct commercial service between the airports, and Qantas' second Project Sunrise ultra-long-haul route — its program for record-distance flights — after Sydney-London starts October 2027. Tickets go on sale August 2027.
