Qantas to launch first nonstop Sydney-New York flights in mid-2028

Qantas will operate nonstop Sydney to New York JFK flights from mid-2028, taking 18 hours versus 21 hours via Los Angeles. It will be the first commercial direct service between the airports and Qantas' second Project Sunrise route after Sydney-London starts in October 2027. Tickets go on sale in August 2027.
