California, New York Sue to Block Offshore Wind Lease Buybacks

California and New York attorneys general sued the Trump administration Sept. 22 to stop buybacks of offshore wind leases.

California challenges a payment to company Invenergy to abandon four leases, including one off California. States led by New York contest action on Bluepoint Wind off New York-New Jersey. New York alleges $1.4 billion in taxpayer money was used illegally.
