Amazon Leo Satellite Internet Coming to Remote Uzbekistan

Amazon said September 22 it signed a distribution agreement to sell high-speed Leo satellite internet in Uzbekistan through UZ-SAT, an affiliate of national carrier Uztelecom, targeting remote areas beyond existing networks. The service, which beams broadband from low-orbit satellites, will complement Uztelecom coverage that reaches 96% of communities. Leo remains unlaunched, in testing with staff and select business customers.
