Xbox to cut 1,600 roles in second wave of 3,200 layoffs

Microsoft plans to cut about 1,600 Xbox roles from week commencing 21 September 2026, according to The Information citing a Microsoft source in a report published 21 September 2026. Xbox said in a statement announced 6 July 2026 it would cut about 3,200 roles in FY27, after cutting 1,600 roles on 6 July 2026.
