First Wasp Spider Recorded in Cheshire at Chester Zoo

Conservationists at Chester Zoo found a fully grown female wasp spider, nicknamed Wendy, in a rewilded field on the estate. The British Arachnological Society confirmed it as the first Cheshire record. Native to mainland Europe, North Africa and Asia, the species, described as a 'climate refugee,' is moving north as temperatures rise, and is not dangerous to humans.
