Van Velden defends c-word use in farewell speech

ACT MP for Tāmaki Brooke van Velden used her valedictory — her farewell speech to Parliament — to defend saying the c-word in the debating chamber last year. She said it was in protest after a newspaper column aimed the slur at her and other female ministers. The former ACT deputy is leaving politics at the election.
