B.C. Lawsuit Alleges Altman Overruled Staff Push to Warn Police Before Shooting

British Columbia says in its San Francisco federal suit that OpenAI safety staff urged warning police about Jesse Van Rootselaar, but CEO Sam Altman and other leaders overruled them, citing whistleblowers who spoke to the Wall Street Journal. Nine died in the Feb. 10 Tumbler Ridge shooting. The province seeks damages and court-ordered changes for handling violent threats.
