Carney's Building Canada Strong Act targets labour, project approvals

Mark Carney's government tabled the Building Canada Strong Act on Sept. 21 as MPs returned from summer break. The bill aims to reduce work stoppages in federally regulated sectors — workplaces under Ottawa's jurisdiction — and to speed major-project approvals. Labour relations and project approvals normally move separately, with Ottawa and the provinces holding distinct roles.
