UK Files First Charges Over Rwanda's 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi

Britain's public prosecutors, the Crown Prosecution Service, said 21 September 2026 they charged Dr Vincent Brown, a north London resident, over the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Prosecutors call it the UK's first such case. The question now is how British courts handle atrocity crimes — grave abuses — committed abroad.
