Evanston Police Say Federal Agents Injured Wrong Man in Mistaken Arrest

Federal agents detained and injured an Evanston resident they mistook for a fugitive with a Chicago address, Evanston police said. A fugitive is a person sought by law enforcement for arrest. Officers found the man with injuries to his head, neck and teeth. Agents told police they released him after confirming he was a U.S. citizen, not their target.
