Federal Officers Hurt the Wrong Person in Evanston, Police Say

Federal agents — national law officers — held and hurt a man in Evanston after mixing him up with a wanted person from Chicago, local police said. Officers found him with injuries to his head, neck and teeth. The agents told police they let him go after learning he was a U.S. citizen, not the person they wanted.
