Maryland hunter fatally shot woman he mistook for deer

Walter Moorhead, 74, of Salisbury, Maryland, fired a rifle from a ground blind — a camouflaged shelter for hunters — near Ellendale, Delaware, around 7:40 p.m. Sept. 18, thinking he saw a deer. The bullet hit Santos Maria Chilel Soto, 39, of Georgetown, who was walking across the field. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
