Maryland hunter fatally shot Delaware woman after mistaking her for deer

Walter Moorhead, 74, of Salisbury, Maryland, fired a rifle from a ground blind near Ellendale, Delaware, at about 7:40 p.m. September 18, believing he saw a deer. The shot struck 39-year-old Santos Maria Chilel Soto of Georgetown, who was walking across the field. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
