Converse Pulls Karina Ad After Criticism Over Hate Imagery

Converse removed an Instagram ad showing aespa star Karina holding Chuck 70 X sneakers and apologized, saying it got it wrong. Critics said the image recalled the Ku Klux Klan — a U.S. white-supremacist group — and lynching, the racist killings of Black Americans. The Nike-owned brand says it cleared the ad and is removing it elsewhere.
