Second NATS fault in two weeks hits northern UK flights

Britain's air traffic controller NATS suffered a second system fault on 21 September 2026 at its Prestwick centre, which handles northern airspace. Flights in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England faced severe delays, while airports south of Manchester were largely spared. Engineers are investigating. It follows an 8 September fault that cancelled nearly 2,000 flights.
