NATS reports second failure in two weeks at Prestwick centre

UK air traffic provider NATS reported its second technical fault in under two weeks on 21 September 2026 at its Prestwick centre, severely delaying Scottish flights and disrupting Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Airports south of Manchester were broadly unaffected. Engineers are investigating. It follows an 8 September failure that cancelled nearly 2,000 flights.
