Second breakdown for UK team guiding planes

The team that guides UK planes, NATS, had a second equipment breakdown on 21 September 2026 at its Prestwick base. Like failed traffic lights, it caused long waits in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Airports south of Manchester mostly kept flying. Engineers are checking why. An 8 September breakdown cancelled nearly 2,000 flights.
