National calls Labour hypocritical over landlord tax break

National campaign chair Simeon Brown says Labour shows “rank hypocrisy” by keeping landlord interest deductibility, which lets landlords claim mortgage interest as an expense. Labour leader Chris Hipkins told RNZ he would not change it if elected. Brown asked how Labour would pay for policies without extra revenue. Hipkins said he did not want to risk higher rents.
