National and Labour disagree over tax rule for landlords

National campaign chair Simeon Brown says Labour shows “rank hypocrisy” by keeping a tax rule that lets landlords claim interest to lower their tax. Labour leader Chris Hipkins told RNZ he would keep the rule if elected. Brown asked how Labour would pay for policies without that money. Hipkins said changing it could push up rents for people already struggling.
