Specialist Rape Courtrooms Planned for All Crown Courts

Every Crown Court in England and Wales will get at least one courtroom set up for rape and serious sexual offence trials within two years, Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced. The rooms will offer separate entrances, waiting areas and video-recorded testimony. Burnham said rape prosecution rates remained 'shamefully low.'
