Lib Dems propose three-month 10p fuel duty cut

The Liberal Democrats propose cutting fuel duty — the tax on petrol and diesel — by 10p a litre for three months, costing £2bn. Leader Ed Davey was to detail the plan at the party conference in Brighton. It follows the government extending its temporary cut, in place since 2022, to year-end.
