Davey to urge 10p fuel duty cut until Christmas

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey will on Tuesday call for fuel duty — the tax paid on petrol and diesel — to be cut by 10p a litre until Christmas. He said high pump prices reflected what he described as Trump's war with Iran. He said the £2bn cost would be covered by extra energy and VAT receipts.
