Joby flies 3,199 miles across US with no pilot input

Joby Aviation said Sept. 18, 2026 it flew 3,199 miles coast to coast with no control inputs from the onboard safety pilot. A compliance pilot stayed aboard while the aircraft flew autonomously, meaning software handled flight under remote human supervision. Joby called it the first fully autonomous transcontinental flight.
