Plane flies across America by itself

Joby Aviation said Sept. 18, 2026 its aircraft flew 3,199 miles coast to coast without the onboard safety pilot touching the controls. A compliance pilot, a backup required by rules, rode along while computers flew, watched from the ground. Joby called it the first self-flying flight across the continent.
