Young US veterans show high PFAS levels needing medical checks

58% of U.S. veterans ages 20-39 have PFAS, durable industrial chemicals, above 20 nanograms per milliliter in blood, the level where U.S. National Academies experts recommend medical monitoring, a Brown University-led study found. About 36% of civilians the same age exceeded it, using CDC survey data from 2003-2018.
