58% of young US veterans exceed PFAS medical monitoring threshold

58% of U.S. veterans ages 20-39 exceed 20 nanograms per milliliter of PFAS in blood, the level at which U.S. National Academies experts advise medical monitoring, a Brown University-led study found. About 36% of civilians in the same age group exceeded the threshold. Researchers analyzed CDC survey data from 2003-2018.
