UK to Cut Aid to Yemen, Afghanistan; Ukraine Aid Protected

Yemen faces a 28% cut in UK aid and Afghanistan a 39% cut by 2028/29 under planned cuts, while aid to Ukraine stays protected, or ringfenced. Prime Minister Keir Starmer says the savings will go to defence spending. The three countries were the UK's top aid recipients in 2025.
