African Serval Found in Marrero Backyard During House Fire

Louisiana firefighters answering a small house fire in Marrero, a suburban New Orleans community, found an African serval behind the residence in a 9-by-9-foot chain-link enclosure. Servals are wild cats native to Sub-Saharan Africa. Exotic animals — wild species kept as pets — are often found by chance, not by inspections.
