Denver sues to block federal officers from polls

Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul López and rights groups sued Sept. 18, 2026, to block federal officers from polling places, NPR reported. The suit cites the 1965 Voting Rights Act, barring racial discrimination in voting, and said armed agents would intimidate voters. DHS said ICE is not planning operations targeting polling locations.
