Denver sues to keep federal officers from voting

Denver voting official Paul López and rights groups sued Sept. 18, 2026, to keep federal officers out of voting places, NPR reported. The suit uses the 1965 Voting Rights Act, a law protecting voting rights, and said armed agents would scare voters. DHS said ICE is not planning operations targeting voting places.
