Denver clerk, rights groups sue to block federal officers from polls

A coalition including Denver Clerk and Recorder Paul López sued Sept. 18, 2026, seeking to block federal officers from polling places under the 1965 Voting Rights Act, NPR reported. The suit says armed agents would intimidate voters. DHS said ICE is not planning operations targeting polling locations.
